Ouida McKay affectionately known as Ms. Lee is a proud native of Jamaica, West Indies. She is a cosmetologist specializing in hair care with over 40 years of experience graduating from Leon’s School of Beauty in Kingston, Jamaica in 1979. Upon graduation, Lee opened her first salon in Westmoreland, Jamaica.
Eager to broaden her experiences and advance her career, she migrated to the United States in 1986. Always seeking growth and education, she enrolled in classes at BOCES College. Upon the completion of her studies, she received a cosmetology license to practice in the state of New York. After several years of perseverance and hard work, in 1994 she opened her first salon in Mount Vernon, New York. Her salon, Le Del’s Hair Stylist, specializes in beautiful hair from within. Her approach to healthy hair begins with raising customer awareness about the connection between lifestyle, nutrition, and healthy hair.
Never one to remain stagnant, in 2013 Lee received her bachelor’s and in 2014 achieved master’s level credentials from the National Institute of Cosmetology.
Lee frequently travels around the country to cosmetology seminars, shows and workshops to upgrade her skills and techniques. One of her greatest pleasures is to share her professional experiences and knowledge with newcomers to the field. Ms. Lee, who has a firm belief in always striving to achieve your goals, demonstrates this principle in her own life by accomplishing her objectives with determination and perseverance.
